Sheltering a piece of local community history

It’s difficult to envisage a time with no cars, sealed roads, and the main mode of transport being horse & wagon!

In remembrance, a team of dedicated volunteers from the local Paengaroa community have recently completed a painstaking restoration of a historic wagon labelled “The Wagon Project”.  This particular wagon was in service through Paengaroa, from Maketu to Rotorua – and primarily used for the transportation of logs.

The Barrett team were proud to get involved in this community initiative by building a shelter structure.  We think this will protect the wagon for many more years to come, and help establish it as a fixture and tourist attraction in Paengaroa.
