Pink Ribbon morning tea, 2020

With a staff of just as many women as there are men – each year we are proud to host a Pink Ribbon Morning Tea. This is a great way to dress up in pink, and get our staff, friends, family and clients together and aligns with our commitment to the community.

This year we hosted the event at Barrett HQ and raised nearly $400 for breast cancer research, education and support.

We had a gorgeous bunch of fragrant pink flowers, from Flowerette, and raffled off tickets for this. Our lucky winner was a current client of ours, named Merle, who was lucky enough to take the flowers home with her. Congratulations again Merle.

“She was powerful not because she wasn’t scared, but because she went on so strongly despite the fear.” Atticus

Have you checked your breasts lately? Checking your breasts is easy as TLC. ‘Know your normal’, so you can find any changes in your breasts as soon as they appear.

TOUCH
Touch both breasts. You’re feeling for any lumps or thickening of the tissue, even up into the armpits.

LOOK
Look in front of a mirror. Can you see any physical changes to the breast shape, skin or nipples?

CHECK
Check any breast changes with your doctor. Even if you’ve had a mammogram recently.

Self-checking is about feeling for changes that aren’t normal for you. This may be a lump, thickened area, or anything that feels totally different from any other area in your breasts.

It can be scary to find something that doesn’t feel or look normal, but it’s important to get anything checked out by your GP, even if you’ve had a mammogram recently.
